O.K., this is a new Calamus font that I called _Mini <6>_. It was
designed to give the MAXIMUM legible text possible at 6 point for 300 DPI
printers. It creates "legible" print at as small as 2.7 points, and is
usable up to 7-8 points. At point sizes larger than this the kerning isn't
right and some letters progressively start to look "funny". This is
because it was optimized to activate individual printer pixels at around
the 6 point target range. I was tired of having Calamus not be able to
compete with the GDOS type at small sizes so this font was my solution to
that problem. It won't transfer over to linotype outputs unless you want
to do 1.5 or 0.75 point micro text, but, is intended as a final output
font for the HPDJ+ and Atari Laser 300 DPI printers. It is a complete font
with all the small and capital letters, numbers and punctuation. I use it
at 5.4 point with a 0.6 point line spacing, or at 6 point with a 1.2 point
line space. This gives 12 or 10 lines per inch respectively.
Should you try it and like/use it please don't change it, so that it may
prove useful as a means of exchanging Calamus files with other users. It
is Shareware, and also as "payment" for some of the earlier Calamus fonts
that were shareware, with the "use" stipulation that the user make and
upload another useful font. Otherwise it is free to distribute to others
with this message included. I would be pleasantly surprised if I received
"The Gift of Time" on GEnie in any amount ($5, $10, $??), or I have the
same use stipulation - Make and Upload another useful Calamus font. Or
just GEmail me a few lines and give me your impression of how it works for
you. I hope you Enjoy it. May your Conscience Kiss you as it Bites.
